The course is structured into several areas:The first area is devoted to the properties of fuels (namely biomass and wastes) and their influence on the concept of combustion spaces and boilers themselves.The second area is focused on the operational requirements of the proposed equipment and its projection into the equipment design.In the third part, students will be acquainted with a detailed thermal calculation of the combustion chamber and additional surfaces of the boiler, with the basics of hydrodynamic, strength and aerodynamic calculation. Conceptual questions of design of various types of boilers, construction and calculation of boiler heat exchangers, materials used in boiler construction will be discussed.The fourth area is fully devoted to advanced heat exchanger design, especially tubular and plate heat exchangers. The students will acquire the principles of design of choice and design of heat exchangers.
