To obtain the credit it is necessary to complete at least 10 exercises during semester. Other forms of the checked instructions are specified by a regulation issued by the guarantee of the course and updated for every academic year.

Aims

The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the audio effects for changing the height, strength and duration of a signal and combined effects, techniques of mixing, sound formats, sound reinforcement issues, practical work with digital audio workstations, hard-disc recorders, technical terminology in English, the deficiencies of audio materials, and artificial reverberation.
The student will be able to:
- describe the principle effects of varying height, length and strength of a signal,
- describe mixing techniques,
- name generally used audio formats and describe them,
- apply their knowledge in sound reinforcement,
- describe digital audio workstations and hard-disc recorders,
- characterize the most common deficiencies of recorded material and its editing,
