Pre-Intermediate Level English (exam)

For this exam, the optional subjects BYA1, BYA2, BYA3 and BYA4 (VYA006 and VYA007) are offered, in which students aquire the required knowledge and skills. The exam is based on the contents of the books New English File Elementary, Clive Oxenden, Christina Latham-Koenig, Oxford University Press 2004 and New English File Pre-Intermediate, Clive Oxenden, Christina Latham-Koenig, Oxford University Press 2005. The exam consists of two parts: the written part which tests the knowledge of grammar and vocabulary and reading, writing and listening skills; and the oral part which tests the ability to speak shortly about a given topic and react to questions.

Aims

This exam corresponds to A2+ level according to CEFR.

It is tested whether students command the basic vocabulary from general English, basic grammar rules, whether they can communicate in everyday life situations.

The aim of this exam is for the students to show that their knowledge has reached such a level when they are able to make themselves understood (both orally and in written) in everyday situations.

Their knowledge should be on pre-intermediate level (A2+ according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
