Enhanced English Skills

The course will develop students' language skills they have acquired at secondary school, in the BUT course English Skills and extend them in the context of academic topics. Also dealt with is ESP. It is focused on practical, everyday communication for the international workplace. "intermediate" level. 

Students will consolidate general vocabulary and grammar structures for the workplace at the intermediate level (B2) and extend them in the context of academic topics.

The course is intended to teach English for Specific Purposes. However, general English is also included.

Entry knowledge

The course is intended for students who are familiar with the language at B1/B2 level. They are expected to have the knowledge and skills corresponding to the course English Skills.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

To pass this course it is necessary, apart from active participation in the class, face to face presentation and individual home preparation, to pass the final written exam test (at least 60%) and oral part. There is a possibility for the student to resit the test. Fill in quizzes and presentation, 60% pass mark.

Attendance at seminars is systematically checked by the teacher. Students are allowed to miss 2 seminars. As long as the number of missed seminars is higher, additional condition may be set up by the teacher in justified cases in order to meet the course requirements.
