Scientific project

FSI-TVPAcad. year: 2024/2025

The task of the course is to strengthen students’ knowledge of modern optical disciplines through hands-on experience. The student will adopt good scientific practice during available project solving. Work on the projects will teach students to formulate and practically solve specialized technical problems and interpret and present achieved results. Individual projects will supervise experts from corresponding research areas. Projects might correlate with a diploma thesis.

Entry knowledge

Ray and wave optics knowledge at the level of courses Fundaments of optics (TZO) and Wave optics (TAO).

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

The student will be assessed according to the achieved results by the project supervisor. Evaluation criteria will be the preparation for project solving, ability to solve the project and presentation of achieved results.


Attendance of students is obligatory. Students are supposed to consult the project with the supervisor. The supervisor decides about compensation for missed lessons.

To solve a specialized technical or scientific problem theoretically and practically.


Improved abilities in systematic work during specialized technical problems solving. Deepening of expertise in the field related to the solved project.

Syllabus

The student will select one of the available projects. Theoretical preparation necessary to solve the experimental part of the project is supposed. The project will be completed by summarizing the achieved results in the final report.
