Course detail

Applied Electronics and Electric Actuators

FSI-VAPAcad. year: 2024/2025

The subject is focused on a specific issue focused on the use of electronics and electric drives in automation. Attention is paid to AC power sources, passive electrical and electronic components, operational amplifiers and semiconductor converters. Considerable emphasis is placed on the area of electric drives, where the student gets to know individual types, their properties and use.

Entry knowledge

Knowledge of mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, mechanics and the basics of automatic control is assumed, at the level of university courses completed so far.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

The laboratory exercise is completed by a credit (it is awarded in the 13th teaching week). To obtain it, 100% participation in exercises, activity in exercises and elaboration, submission and teacher recognition of protocols (reports) from all prescribed laboratory exercises is required. Further details are communicated to students at the beginning of the semester. Obtaining a credit is a necessary condition for participation in the exam. The exam consists of a written part followed by an oral interview. In the written part, the student will process five assigned questions. In the oral part, the orientation in the studied issues is examined. The evaluation of the written part, the oral part and the overall evaluation of the exam is given by the classification scale according to ECTS.

Controlled participation in lessons: Controlled participation in lessons: 100% attendance at seminars is required. In case of absence, the student is obliged to compensate the lessons.

Aims

The aim of the course is to gain theoretical and practical knowledge and experience in applied electronics and electric drives. This is supplemented by previously completed general courses, which are extended to use in automation and computer science.

In the sense of the mentioned annotation and syllabus, the student will gain extensive comprehensive knowledge in the field of electronics and electric drives, which will enable him to eruditely engage in the solution of various technical problems in industrial engineering and electrical engineering practice.
