Bachelor Seminar

The aim of the course is to provide students with theoretical information and practical skills needed for the elaboration of the bachelor thesis. This includes the selection of the topic for the bachelor thesis, formal documents and directives, structure and elements of the bachelor thesis, information sources and search of information, citations, time management, text and graphics editors, typesetting, language-style writing and typography, the final state exam and the defence of the bachelor thesis.

General knowledge and skills at the level of the bachelor study programme focused on mechanical engineering.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

Conditions for completing the course and acquiring the credits: participation and successful completion (obtaining at least 50% of points) of the theoretical test in e-learning. In case of failure, the test can be once repeated.

Aims

Provide students with information about formal requirements related to the bachelor thesis and about the typical progress of the final state exam. Learn students to find relevant information in information sources and how to cite them. Familiarize students with the management of the elaboration of the bachelor thesis. Provide information on how to write a bachelor thesis as a technical text having a rather large extent. Extend the typographical and presentation skills of the students.
