The course is designed as a series of lectures and follow-up practical exercises focusing on lithography. In this course, students will be introduced to lapped lithography, scratch lithography (mezzotint on stone) or autograph (overprinting), and multiple color printing. Emphasis is placed on an individual choice of practical activities. The course will include the opportunity to work in the printmaking workshop during open hours. A portion of the class will be devoted to current trends and artists working with lithography.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course
The following conditions are set for the award of credit:
- Attendance in class (2 permitted unexcused absences) or submission of an assignment based on the assignment in consultation with the lecturers.
- submission of completed assignments.
Classes are taught in the graphic design workshop at the FaVU BUT during the hours specified in the schedule. Minimum attendance is 85%. Make-up for missed lessons is done by agreement with the teacher in the form of individual consultations.
Aims
The aim of the Advanced Printmaking – Lithography course is to offer students an advanced orientation to the possibilities of litography through practical exercises focusing on more complex and technically demanding graphic techniques. The course will enhance students' ability to consider lithography in the context of contemporary art. Emphasis will be placed on the correct technological procedures related to traditional printmaking techniques.
Upon completion of the course, students will be familiar with the procedures and possibilities of lithography. They will be aware of the place of lithography in the context of contemporary art theory and practice.
