Contemporary technologies of spatial creation 2

Teaching of this course will take the form of lectures, seminars and practical exercises. During the semester, students will also meet with professionals, visit industrial enterprises and studios focused on spatial design and new technologies. These visits allow students to gain first-hand and hands-on experience with curently used technologies and materials.

The following conditions are set for the award of credit: Participation in teaching and active involvement in projects 

 

 


Attendance is compulsory (2 unexcused absences allowed). Higher number of absences can be compensated by submitting an alternative assignment after agreement with the teachers. 

 

Aims

The aim of this course is to provide students with a comprehensive overview of new spatial technologies and to enable them to use these technologies in their art and design projects. 

 


After completing the course, students will gain a basic orientation and overview of current technologies of spatial design. They will also gain basic practical experience with selected 3D technologies.

Syllabus

1) Introduction to non-traditional materials in spatial practice such as plastics, composite materials, etc. 

2) Demonstration of working with polyesters, epoxies and silicone rubbers. 

3) Postprocessing, finishing stages on models created using new technologies, infiltration, bonding, sanding, painting, spraying. 

4) Creation of individual projects using 3D technologies, consultation, self-implementation project. 

5) Field trip, hands-on projects.
