Basics of Photography 2

In this course students will develop their theoretical and practical knowledge of studio photography and its overlap in the field of multidisciplinary artistic creation. The course focuses on developing practical experience in documentary and fine art photography as well as in actual digital photographic production. Following practical exercises, relevant trends in photography in an international context will be introduced.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

Credit is awarded based on verification of attendance and submitted assignments.

 

Teaching takes place in the classrooms of the CAT FFA BUT in the hours determined by the schedule. Attendance is compulsory (3 unexcused absences allowed). Higher number of absences can be compensated by submitting an alternative assignment after agreement with the teacher.

 

Aims

The course introduces students to the basics of practical photography. It is an advanced introduction to the basics, composition, studio and outdoor lighting, work and time. Students will gain creative experience and professional and technical knowledge. They are able to work with the basic procedures of professional photography.

 

Upon completion of the course, students will: 

- be able to apply the acquired knowledge and experience in their studio work and independent artistic creation,

- be able to create studio photography, art photography and hybrid visual forms.
