Course detail
Physics 2
FEKT-BPC-FY2BAcad. year: 2024/2025
The course Physics 2 follows on from the course Physics 1, with which it forms a two-semester basic course in physics with a focus on areas that can be used in sound technology. Within this subject, all necessary parts of higher mathematics are already consistently used, especially differential and integral calculus. In the first part of the subject Physics 2, the students' knowledge of the mechanics of a mass point is deepened, attention is paid to constructing and solving equations of motion. The field of mechanics is also expanded to include a system of mass points and a rigid body, and the issue of friction and wrapping around bodies is also outlined. The following are properties of solids. Considerable attention is also paid to the wave equation and various types of its solution, as well as the properties of sound waves and the principle of basic types of musical instruments. The last part deals with the deepening of knowledge in the field of electromagnetism, including the formulation of Maxwell's equations and selected knowledge in the field of electromagnetic waves.

Max. final classification is 100 points.
Student can obtain up to:
- 20 points from laboratories (6 reports and 1 test),
- 10 points from computer exercises,
- 10 points from the semester work,
- 60 points from the exam (a written part of 40 points and a verbal part of 20 points).
Students must obtain at least 15 points in the written part to proceed to the verbal part.
Students must obtain at least 5 points in the verbal part to pass the exam.
Laboratory and computer exercises are compulsory, properly excused missed exercises can be compensated after consultation with the teacher.
The content and forms of instruction in the evaluated course are specified by a regulation issued by the lecturer responsible for the course and updated for every academic year.
