The subject “NGWN” is dedicated to the introduction of current types of data transmission that utilizes the wireless communication networks and protocols within the concept of next-generation wireless networks. Students will be introduced to the main differences of wireless communication within the frequency spectrum ranging from 450 MHz to 72 GHz. The focus will be directed to: (i) modulation, (ii) security, (iii) communication range, (iv) reliability, (v) packet loss, and (vi) transmission delay.The practical part of the course (laboratories) will be dedicated to principles of the Network Simulator 3, with accent given to a scenario focused on a data transmission utilizing emerging wireless communication technologies from the 5G NR group: LTE/LTE-A, IEEE 802.11ac, IEEE 802.11ad, Sigfox, LoRa, NB-IoT.
