The hybrid course "Citing A to Z" acquaints students with the issues of citation (creation of reference, plagiarism, citation analysis, etc.) and the copyright aspects of scientific publishing. In addition, the attention is also paid to searching for scientific information, evaluating information on the Internet and the (relatively) new phenomena of open access and data management.

The course is taught in the form of on-site seminars, supported with e-learning (LMS Moodle) and individual consultations. The base of the course is assignments and the feedback to them.

To acquaint students with the copyright requirements for their work
To present the correct way of referencing
To discuss the options in open access and data management
Students will know the principles of ethical use of information. They will be able to create references of various kinds of documents and use reference managers to create them. They will know the copyright aspects of publishing and open access issues. They will be able to search in the electronic information sources available at BUT. They can critically evaluate information found on the Internet.
