Computer Modelling in Power Electrical Engineering

FEKT-MKC-PMEAcad. year: 2024/2025

The course focuses on the calculation of electromagnetic and other physical fields using the finite element method and the interconnection of computer programs with modern CAD systems (AutoCAD, Inventor). Students will learn the preparation of electrical machinery FEMM program in Autodesk AutoCAD. How to create a simple simulation, and evaluate the results. The second half of the course focuses on linking 3D models created in Autodesk _Inventoru and environment program Ansys. To more complex models, students learn about the procedures, advantages and disadvantages of a wide range of problems using FEM. In addition, you then learn the procedures that minimize errors in the calculation.

20 points - exam
60 points - Single Projects
20 points - midterm test
The content and forms of instruction in the evaluated course are specified by a regulation issued by the lecturer responsible for the course and updated for every academic year.

Aims

The aim is to acquire basic knowledge needed for solving a wide range of problems with the physical fields. Furthermore, to acquaint students with the necessary modifications models for calculations, in order to increase accuracy, or speed up the computation. The main contribution is to extend students' knowledge of the use of models from CAD systems, respectively. their links with other softwares.
Students can solve the absolovování subject distribution of physical fields on components of electrical machinery and apparatus. He can create and prepare the calculations for both 2D and 3D models and import them into well-environment programs FEMM and Ansys. Calculation results can be evaluated and minimize errors entered into the calculation of the user.
