Pre-Intermediate Level English (exam)

For this exam, four optional courses are offered, in which students aquire the required knowledge and skills. The exam is based on the contents of the books Oxenden, C., Latham-Koenig, S., Seligson, P.: English File Elementary Third Edition - Student´s Book, Oxford University Press, 2012 and Oxenden, C., Latham-Koenig, S., Seligson, P.: English File Pre-Intermediate Third Edition - Student´s Book, Oxford University Press, 2012. The exam consists of two parts: the written part which tests the knowledge of grammar and vocabulary, reading, writing and listening skills; and the oral part which tests the ability to speak shortly about a given topic and to react to questions.

Aims

This exam corresponds to A2+ level according to CEFR.

It is tested whether students command the basic vocabulary from general English, basic grammar rules, whether they can communicate in everyday life situations.

The aim of this exam is for the students to show that their knowledge has reached such a level when they are able to make themselves understood (both orally and in written) in everyday situations.

Their knowledge should be on pre-intermediate level (A2+ according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
