Course detail

Building Constructions 2 (APS)

FAST-BHA041Acad. year: 2024/2025

The course is aimed at deepening the basic knowledge of building construction. Students will gain knowledge about vertical load-bearing and dividing non-load-bearing structures and their possible solutions, reinforcing rims and lintels. At the same time, they will learn about the problems of expansion and distribution joints in load-bearing and non-bearing structures, substructure and its protection against water, pressurized water and radon. They will also complete information about finishing structures of floors, windows and chimneys. They will be acquainted with the methods of solving facades of buildings (single and multi-layer), exterior and interior plasters.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

Altogether it is necessary to actively participate the practices, with parallel consultations and submissions of the assigned work (drawings) according to the schedule of practices, which are then required to be handed in together within the credit week in a prescribed manner. To pass the final mark, it is necessary to meet all requirements of exercise - and passing the final test.

Extent and forms are specified by guarantor’s regulation updated for every academic year.

Aims

Basic orientation in vertical bearing systems design of public and industrial buildings. Fundamental knowledge in horizontal and arched bearing constructions and constructions connecting various altitudinal levels. Knowledge in suspended construction design such as console or cantilevered structures. Basic knowledge about chimney constructions.
Student copes aim subjectthat which is general conception proposal skeleton program multi - storey construction inclusive assembling project documentation for her realization.

Syllabus

The aim of the exercise is to practice the standard used for drawing drawings of building parts and presentation of outputs in the design of building construction (floor plan and cross-sections of a non-basement building with 3 floors). Outputs are solved in the form of studies or drawings. 1. Introduction. Standards used to draw drawings of components. Editing drawings and studies. Dimensions and adjustment of drawing sheets. Scales. Lines on building construction drawings. 2. Literary research on a given topic. Familiarization with standard requirements and legislation applicable to administrative buildings, listing of main information in the form of a study. 3. Assignment of the layout of the administrative building, information resulting from the literature search, repetition of the requirements for the building itself and how to draw the study itself. 3. Consultations on the elaboration of a given topic, possible solutions, interventions in existing dispositions. 4. Installation of the object into the terrain - explanation of the construction of the installation, elevation and planimetry of the object, finding the heights necessary for further drawings 5. Design of staircase space, design of the staircase itself, floor plans of individual floors and section of the staircase space 6. Entering the building drawing and drawing according to the valid standards of the ground plan of the floor, the solved object of the administrative building. 7. Entering the building drawing and drawing according to the valid standards of the floor plan 2 NP, solved object of the administrative building 8. Consultation of a given topic, possible ways of solution, explanation of drawing principles and common mistakes. 9.
