Information Systems and Digital Cartography

GIS and other information systems, their structure and function. Modelling of geographic and spatial objects, their representation. Filling of databases from primary and secondary sources, topology building, and entering of attribute data. Data restructuralization, generalization in information systems environment. Analysis of networks and images, and synthetic operations in information systems. Visual reprezentation of reality, animation. Contemporary software systems for land oriented information systems. Information system of surveying and cadastre. Military land information system. State information system and its standards, standarization in field of information technologies (ČSN, CEN, ISO). Contemporary applications of information systems in natural and technical sciences. IS (GIS) exploitation in solution of emergency situations. Network applications of information technologies, INTERNET, INTRANET. Designing of information systems and GIS. Digital cartographic production Czech (DKM, ZABAGED, DMÚ), and worldwide. Principles of their creation. Digital cartographic creation, generalization in digital cartography. Digital technologies in prezentation and map printing. Spatial modelling, solution of morphometric and cartometric problems in 3D. Contemporary software products for 2D and 3D digital cartography.
