Overview of various types of realized structures – video examples focused on production and assembly of particular types of metal and timber structures. Failures of structures.
Diploma work requirements – technical report, static calculation, drawing documentation, material specification, solution alternatives.
Choice of technical task, specification of basic dispositional and structural parameters in reference to particular subject of the project.
Elaboration of corresponding design models of steel building structures, bridge structures, timber structures.

Rules for design of metal and timber structures, static action of bearing systems. Elements and connections of metal structures, elements and connections of timber structures, structural mechanics.

The objective of the subject is to introduce students to the problems of this course and to practise acquires knowledge and skills.
Students have to manage the aim of the subject, make the acquaintance with course problematic and practice their knowledge and acquirements.
