Bachelor’s Seminar (K-KDK)

The seminar is aimed at preliminary work and completion of bachelor’s project.
Choice of subject of bachelor’s project, specification of basic disposition and structural parameters in reference to particular subject of the project. Project elaboration requirements.

Entry knowledge

Knowledge of the design of members and connections of metal and timber structures. Principles of structural mechanics, elasticity, strength and plasticity, which necessary for the design of simple steel, steel-concrete or timber structure.

Aims

The objective of the subject is to introduce students to the problems of this course and to practise acquires knowledge and skills.
Student will learn and get under controll aims of the course within the meaning of upgrading knowledge in the field of design and realization of metal, steel-concrete and timber structures and bridges, especially with the respect to problems in the connection with the specify topic of bachelor project.

1. Project task. 2.-4. Geometry and composition of a structure, preliminary static design. 4.-9. Work on the project: modelling, static solution, dimensioning. Consultation with Bachelor´s thesis supervisor. 10.-11. Work on the project: structural detailing, drawing documentation. Consultation with Bachelor´s thesis supervisor. 12. Completion of the project. 13. Presentation of the project.
