Theoretical karstology and speleology. Conditions for karst development, factors. Karst cycle and denudation. Exokarst. Endokarst. Genesis and development of caves. Cave types. Cave interior. Karst hydrology and hydrography.
Karst extension in Czech Republic and worldwide. Practical meaning of karst for mankind. Karst preservation.
Speleological mapping. Speleological maps. Methods of cave measurement and depiction. Creation of a cave map.
Practical cave measurements.

Aims

Acquaintance with problems of karst phenomena, its classification and preservation. Getting practical knowledge in field of speleological mapping.
Student will be introduced with teoretical karsologie and practical speleologie, especially with speleological mapping. Student will create the map of part of cave.
