Advanced Project Management Techniques

The course follows basic master´s degree courses in the area of management, IT/ICT and managerial decision-making. The course focuses on explaining the basic theoretical concepts related to the selected techniques, methods and tools of project management and its practical application. The selection of techniques, methods and tools reflects new trends in project management.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

The graded assessment has a written form. The condition for granting of graded assessment is processing of semester project until deadline and passing the credit test. The mark, which corresponds to the total sum of points achieved (max. 20 points), consists of points achieved by answering to open questions in the credit test.
The grades and corresponding points:
A (20-18), B (17-16), C (15-14), D (13-12), E (11-10), F (9-0).

Aims

The aim of the course is to deepen knowledge and skills in selected techniques, methods and tools of project management. Emphasis is placed on the interpretation of the necessary theoretical background as well as on practical application. Selected techniques, methods and tools reflect new trends in project management.
Students will be able to independently model concrete projects in all its basic aspects (time, resources, costs), and to consider these aspects in logical context. They will be able to recommend suitable techniques, methods and software tools to support project planning and management, including the possibility of using special software for modelling and simulation of selected project processes.
