Business Information Systems 2

The course conceptually builds on the Business Information Systems course, which is taught in the undergraduate program of Systems Engineering and Informatics. It provides an overview of the main trends, management approaches, and the application of business information systems and new technologies aimed at enhancing organizational performance and competitiveness. The principles of their use will be demonstrated to students through case studies prepared by instructors directly from practice.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course
To obtain the credit, students must complete a semester project on a selected topic. The project is graded on a scale of 0-100 points, with a minimum of 50 points required to pass.
The exam consists of a written part (50%) and an oral part (50%). The written part comprises a test with 4 open-ended questions. The oral part involves discussing topics covered in the lectures.
The exam is graded according to the ECTS scale.

Aims
The main aim of the course is to acquire extensive knowledge in the field of business information systems, including the latest approaches and technologies, and their application in key business areas. This includes gaining both theoretical insights and practical knowledge necessary for conducting analytical work, specifying requirements, selecting, implementing, and operating business applications. Graduates of the course will be able to participate in managing implementation projects.
Students will gain a detailed overview of the main trends, management approaches, and application of business information systems and new technologies aimed at enhancing organizational performance and competitiveness. The principles of their use will be demonstrated to students through case studies prepared by instructors with practical experience.
