Základy psychologie a vedení týmů

As part of the course, students will be introduced to concepts related to the psychology of work in groups and teams. It's clear that leading a team to success requires more than just assigning tasks to individual team members – it's a combination of interpersonal, technical and organizational skills. Individual topics about the basic theories and models of various group phenomena and about their documentation and the results of current empirical research will be presented in the form of practical applications and experiential learning. In addition to learning the fundamentals of team management, students will learn the core skills necessary to effectively lead high-performing teams.

Entry knowledge

A general social science orientation in the world around us, an overall overview, knowledge of the basics of psychology, sociology, applied psychology and sociology, the basics of economics, the basics of ethics and philosophy at the level of previous high school or university studies are assumed. A general social overview corresponding to knowledge from the subject Basics of Social Sciences is appropriate and fully sufficient.

A direct connection between social science issues and technical subjects at the graduation level of previous study programs is not required. Interest in social science issues, psychology and the connection of technology, social sciences at the level of theory and practical application in companies and in the work environment is especially welcome.

In particular, it is an effort to practically apply the theoretical foundations of psychology, sociology and social sciences to the field of corporate practice with the aim of improving team management, interpersonal communication, the ethical dimension of business, broadening the knowledge of personality theory, more efficient, modern and effective management of teams at the level of individuals and team collectives as a social and ethical corporate strategy.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

Workbased assignment (semester work) in the range of 1000 words, colloquium.

The student participates in the introductory lecture and consults on-line processing of the semester work. The end of the course will be done by oral and written verification through a colloquium held at the end of the module.

Aims

The aim of the course is to provide students with the knowledge, skills and understanding of what is needed for successful leadership, teamwork and team building. Teamwork is a key competency in today's job market, regardless of industry or organization. Team skills are necessary to coordinate individuals and adapt the organization to the unpredictable demands of the new economy. Even large established companies are restructuring into teams around projects, product lines, customers, etc. New technologies and competitive pressures are breaking down traditional hierarchies and lower levels of organizations have more responsibility, act more flexibly. Command and control gives way to networking and negotiation.
