Course detail

Non-oxide ceramics

CEITEC VUT-DS208AAcad. year: 2024/2025

The course is focused on understanding the structural and functional properties of non-oxide ceramics. The main emphasis in the course is on expanding students' knowledge and learning a conceptual approach to non-oxide ceramic materials. Various groups of non-oxide ceramics are described in the course, along with the processing methods leading to them. The instruction on preparation processes also includes understanding the rules for designing optimized microstructures and composites, all in connection with applications. The course also includes demonstrations of non-oxide ceramic preparation processes, and its content can serve as a foundation for doctoral theses.
