History of Architecture in Czech Lands

FA-ACZ-TEAcad. year: 2025/2026

The course is prepared for the non-European students who will be introduced to the basic cultural and historic context of European and Czech architecture that is necessary for their further study and work in European context.
The cycle of lectures and excursions will provide the students with the basic overview of the history of architecture in Czech lands and its European context until the end of the 19th century. The theoretical knowledge will be expanded by practical examples during the excursions to the most important heritage sites of the given period in Brno and its surroundings.
In the study programmes “Architecture and Urban Design” the course is part of the theoretical courses.
