This subject is focused on obtaining of advanced knowledge in case of design and evaluation of steel, timber and composite load-bearing constructions and bridges (e.g. modes of a solution of more complicated cases of load, connections, etc.). It is as well focused on more complex principles of design, realization and drawing of steel, timber and steel-concrete constructions.

Entry knowledge
- Knowledge in structural mechanics, elasticity and plasticity (determination of internal forces, characteristics of cross-section).
- Knowledge and principles in case of design of load-bearing constructions according the limit states.
- Abilities in a creation of simply hall building computational models.
- Abilities in a determination and application of basic types of load on constructions according EC (self-weight, snow and wind load).
- Knowledge in a design of steel, timber or steel-concrete composite constructions, including connections and anchorage.
- Knowledge and principles in case of design of load-bearing constructions according the limit states.

Aims
The objective of the subject is to introduce students to the problems of this course and to practise acquires knowledge and skills.
Student will learn and get under controll aims of the course within the meaning of upgrading knowledge in the field of design and realization of metal, steel-concrete and timber structures and bridges, especially with the respect to problems in the connection with the specify topic of bachelor project.

- 1. Standards for load, design, checking, realization and drawing documentation in case of steel, timber and composite structures.
- 2.–3. Static solution of schemes and computational models, creation and application of load, internal forces determination.
- 4.–5. Checking of solved construction on the basis of currently valid EC standards.
- 6.–9. Solution of selected structural details and connections of a construction. Analytic solution of connections and construction details.
- 10.–11. The assembly process. Drawings of a layout and selected details of construction, including specification of elements. Technical report.
