The course provides vocational training for 160 hours (4 weeks) in electrotechnical engineering and communication technologies. The training is offered in collaboration with companies and research institutions in the Czech Republic or abroad. Students can contact any company they prefer or use a faculty partner to arrange for the training. The training must be conducted outside regular classes, i.e. during the summer vacation. During the training, the students will be expected to use English, for instance, when communicating and translating documents. The course’s primary objective is to prepare students to use English as a language of communication while discussing professional topics related to electrical engineering and communication technology and when solving problems related to the assigned task. Furthermore, the students will need to apply the knowledge acquired in linguistic and electrical engineering subjects when translating and structuring the content of different technical documents.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course
To obtain credit, students are required to submit a report endorsed by the student’s workplace supervisor. The report should detail the tasks they solved while working in the company, along with a brief analysis of the results achieved.
