Entry knowledge

The subject knowledge of biology of man and the knowledge of basic princips of medical technology in the field of electrokardiography, electroencephalography, electromyography and blood flow is requested.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

Graded credit is awarded on the basis of an interview with the examiner on the selected topic in biology or physiology.
There is no controlled od compulsory education in this course.

Aims

The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the nature of the physiological processes in the human body and the basic knowledge of human biology. The course is aimed to engineers who specialize in medical devices, and its primary purpose is to supplement student's knowledge so that they are able to communicate with medical staff.
Participatan will be able to:
- List and define the basic anatomical terms,
- Communication with medical staff,
- Describe the general structure and function of cells,
- Describe the basic principles of physiological systems of the human body,
- Apply these principles in the interpretation of measured signals and data.
