Health Legislation and Law

The course deals with ethics and law in health care, consent and compliance in healthcare, civil, administrative and criminal responsibility in health care, confidentiality as protection of privacy, the interpretation of eligibility for non-medical professions biomedical technicians and engineers. Discusses public and private funding in health, the issue medical materials medical law and ethics research, assisted reproduction, abortion and euthanasia.

Entry knowledge

Student who writes this article should be able to discuss the basics of the legal conscious citizens, ethics, accountability, abortion, euthanasia and health organization.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

Classified credit with a rating of 0 - 100 points. Seminar classes are compulsory, duly excused missed seminars can be replaced after agreement with the teacher. 

 

Aims

The aim of the course is to provide students with basic knowledge of the structure of law in health care, legal liability in health, privacy, confidentiality, organization and employment in health, health financing, health care materials and research issues of life and death.



The student is able to:
- discuss the basic principles of law and ethics in health care,
- explain the meaning of agreement and consensus in health care,
- interpret the concepts of obligation to care and forced in health care,
- describe the civil, administrative and criminal law liability in health care,
- explain privacy confidentiality in health care,
- discuss conditions of employment for technicians in health care,
- describe the conditions of work with sanitary material,
- explain ethics and law in health care research,
- discuss the terms of abortion and euthanasia.
