Infrastructure for Electric Vehicles

Subsidies for electromobility. Economics of operating a charging station.  Types of charging stations on the market.

Entry knowledge

Knowledge of the basic principles of electrical engineering at the bachelor's level.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

Semestral test: maximum 10 points.

Elaborated laboratory tasks: maximum 30 points . Minimal extent of elaborated laboratory tasks and other conditions needed for successful completion of the course are stated in the announcement issued by the supervisor of the course each year.

Final exam in writen form: maximum 60 points.
The definition of supervised teaching and the manner in which it is carried out is set out in the annually updated decree of the subject guarantor. Laboratory exercises are mandatory.

Aims

The aim of the course is to introduce students to the objectives of building infrastructure related to electromobility. They should gain knowledge in the field of charging stations, introduction to energy grids, energy mix and the use of local energy sources in smart grids.
Students will gain knowledge in the field of infrastructure for electromobility. They will learn the terminology and basic parts of charging stations and their functions. They will also learn about legislation in the field of energy and buildings. They will gain knowledge of the design of photovoltaic systems for electric vehicle charging stations.
