CAD Application in Technologies

FSI-EACAcad. year: 2025/2026

The course is intended to widen and deepen the knowledge of design and engineering technology. The fundamentals of design made in CAD systems are applied to simple examples of machine parts. Emphasis is placed on mastering the application of computer technology when modelling in 3D systems.

Language of instruction

Czech

Number of ECTS credits

4

Mode of study

Not applicable.

Entry knowledge

Technical drawing.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

Attendance in the exercises is compulsory and checked. It is allowed a maximum of two absences per semester. The course-unit credit is awarded according to attendance and submission of individual assignments in the exercises. Attendance in lectures is recommended.
The exam tests student's theoretical and practical knowledge of computer technology and its application to the construction modelling used in machining technology. The practical part of the exam reflects student's ability to create a model in CAD systems.
Individual assignments and result checking.

Aims

The objective of the course is to provide a detailed description of the process of from computer modelling in the computer-aided manufacture of products. Another goal is to provide a basis for optimal and qualified decision-making with respect to use of various technologies applied for working of engineering materials.
Students will have an overview of engineering technology, computer technology systems and their classification. They will master the techniques and will acquire the knowledge related to the use of computer technology in the field of engineering production. The course will teach them how to create the models of technological processes and will help of computer technology and will familiarise them with the methodology of work with CAD systems.
