The course is focused on the technology of working with earthmoving machinery and the safety regulations applicable to their work. The course deals with the choice of deployment of individual earthmoving machinery according to the type and extent of earthmoving work, site survey, securing excavation work, working conditions of earthmoving machinery, machine operator duties, prohibited handling of machines, transport of machinery on public roads, etc. This course is obligatory for the students applying for the earthwork machines driving license.

Students are required to have basic knowledge of a physics, machine parts and their mechanism and physics of the materials.
Rules for evaluation and completion of the course
The verification of the knowledge acquired in the course: Written test. To get a graded course-unit credit students must attend seminars and successful completion of the test.
Aims
The aim of the course is to get acquainted with the system technologies of operation of earth-moving machinery and safety regulations for their operation. Students will be introduced with the duties and responsibilities of the machine operators, the duties and responsibilities of the supervisors (zone managers, leading groups) mainly from aspect of the making safe working environment and prevent injuries and breakdowns during controlling the earthwork machines.The graduation of this course is obligatory for all persons interested in attaining driving licence for the earthwork machines. Students will also gain the knowledge that a manager must have in the management of work teams performing earthworks. It is about the ability to organize the use of earthmoving machinery according to the technological work, to ensure work safety and also the ability to educate other workers in these areas.
