E-Business

The subject is focused on the area of e-business implementation with a focus on modelling, projecting and subsequent strategic management of e-business with an emphasis on security, system concept and current trends for the sustainable development of this area.

Entry knowledge

Basic competence in the use of information and communication technologies (theoretical and practical). Basic knowledge of economics, management and marketing.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

The evaluation of the course consists of two parts - the preparation of the Semester Project focused on the strategic development of electronic business and its subsequent defence and a written exam with an alternative option of an oral examination.
Completing the semester project in the prescribed form (according to the specification in e-learning) is also a condition for obtaining credit.
The evaluation corresponds to the point classification according to ECTS, while the maximum number of points - 100 is divided among the sub-parts as follows:

  • Semester project: 60 points (40 points for project processing and 20 points for defence of the project)
  • Written exam: 40 points.

A pass rate of at least 50% is required for both parts.
In case of an insufficient number of points or the need for a better assessment, an oral examination is possible.

Participation in classes is mandatory in pre-defined terms (specified within the e-learning) related to the review of the processing of the semester project and the completion of partial tasks. Replacement is possible only after agreement with the teacher.

Elaboration of the project according to the assignment and its submission with the prescribed documentation according to the instructions in e-learning.
Exam conditions:
Project defence and oral examination.

Aims

The objective of the course is for students to master basic terminology in the new area of electronic business, methodology applied when planning selected information and communication systems of Internet shopping. Students will be able to make simple, economically balanced, selected models of electronic business for companies in the Czech Republic.
Students will be made familiar with the basic methods used for planning simple models of electronic business, structure modelling and the behaviour of individual parts of electronic business and safety of selected parts of such shops. They will master the basic terminology of the system conception of electronic business and the possibilities of modelling of individual parts of different types of electronic business.
