The course focuses on the analysis and design of business processes, including techniques for their modeling, design and management. Emphasis is placed on understanding the principles of process management.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

Conditions for awarding the course-unit credit:
Successful elaborations of semester work in a pre-set deadline. Assesment A-E, F means no award. Semester work must be hand in at the last week of lessonning.

Conditions for passing an exam: Knowledge of taught topics and its practical application.Form of examination: oral examination. Part of exam is discussion about semester work. Assesment of semeset work will be partly accepted for the final assesment.
Control of results of individual work on assigned tasks.

Aims

The main objective of the course is to provide students with the theoretical background necessary for designing and managing business processes. To do this, it is necessary to understand the nature of process management and to master the UML and BPMN2 modeling language. Furthermore, students must understand what deficiencies in process control can occur and how they can be eliminated. They also need to understand the links between line management and process management and to identify ways of collision management - escalation.


Students acquire the theoretical foundations necessary for designing and managing business processes. For this, it is necessary to understand the essence of process control and master the modeling language UML and BMPN2. Furthermore, students will understand what deficiencies in process management can occur and how they can be eliminated.
