The course focuses on characteristic features of business professional communication. It provides students with the relevant specialist language and professional communication skills they will need in the workplace.

Entry knowledge

Professional English 2 is a follow-up to the course studied in the previous semester (Professional English 1) covering the first half of the course book (U1 - 6). Exam from course 1 is a necessary prerequisite to continue in the course 2.

Credit:

75% Active participation (10 points)

E-learning assignments (max 10 points)

Credit test (max 30 points, one regular session)

In total - at least 25 points

Exam:

-listening, reading comprehension (min 25, max 50 points)

Students’ attendance and their work are systematically controlled. Most of the study is organized as self-study.

Aims

The course has a practical approach and is intended for pre-service students preparing for work in a business environment.
The course at upper-intermediate level (B2 according to CEFR) is designed to prepare students for various economic professions. It will enrich their professional vocabulary and enable them to express themselves more authoritatively beyond their immediate professional context.
