System Concept/Approach to Risk Engineering

ÚSI-RSSYPAcad. year: 2025/2026

The course content focuses on the following areas: technical aspects of risks in systems, buildings and other structures, their evaluation and risk analysis. Risk and defectology terms. Randomness in risk science. Basic risk analysis tools and decision-making processes. Expression of the reliability of technical systems, buildings and structures. Design on the basis of probabilistic approaches and methods involving subcoefficients of reliability. Calculation of the probability of system and structural failure. Data collection and prediction with a focus on risk engineering issues. The results of the studies will manifest themselves in the analyses and modelling of issues from the risk management area and in the ability to formulate the critical points (identification of hazardous locations) of a project or existing structure. Computer technology will be used in the applications.
