Diploma Seminar (N-STG, Forming, Welding)

The course is focused on guiding students in their research activities, study of professional literature, teaches the principles of planning experiments and evaluating results. Also dealt with are the principles of elaboration of technical reports with respect to their formal and content structure and the basics of technical presentation. Oral presentation takes the form of concise and fitting reports before the student group, under the guidance of teachers, who channel the presentation and, via discussion, point out the errors and shortcomings in both the content and form of presentation.

Entry knowledge

The basic knowledge of the manufacturing technology, of the used manufacturing machines and equipment´s and of the knowledge of the manufacture mechanization. Appropriate knowledge of the technological courses of study, specialized courses in the field of metal forming, welding, and surface treatment.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

The course-unit credits award is attendance at seminars, number of presentations, and writing up partial sections of the diploma thesis are taken in to consideration.


The attendance to the seminar is regularly checked and the participation in the lesson is recorded.
Knowledge is checked by presentation of given topics.

Aims

The aim of the seminar is for students to acquire and test the ability to orally present and defend the results obtained in the course of preparing and working out a technical report.

 

The course facilitates working out the diploma thesis.

In the final year of MSc studies the students will acquire the ability to analyse a given problem and to present, in writing and orally, the results obtained in the course of working out the diploma project.
