Diploma Project - Module M2

Creative studio work is the main and essential means of teaching architecture. It is based on the "learning by doing" method, i.e. gaining knowledge and skills by practical application. It consists in the dialogue of the teacher with the student over a project that is being developed. Thematically, it deals with residential buildings, public buildings, factories, reconstruction of monuments, interior and exhibition design, and town planning , which the students go through according to the Study Order of the Faculty of Architecture of the Brno University of Technology ( FA BUT).

Learning outcomes of the course unit

He or she proves the ability to design constructions of any type, as employee of a design office.

Prerequisites

Corresponding knowledge gained during study that concer mainly composition, typology, urbanism, construction, material usage and detail creation.

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

The evalution is based on project defense in from of state examination board.

Aims

Student demonstrates ability to solve any architectonic assignment.
Studio project shall prove the ability of student to practically apply knowledge and skills gained during studies.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

The work lasts for 12 weeks and is continuously consulted with the teacher. Final study must be completed and submitted in the deadline.
