The durability and the process of failure of building materials in dependence on the environment. Typical failures of buildings in relation to their previous function (residential buildings, industrial buildings, public buildings) and their potential removal. Diagnostics of failures. Excursions to buildings with exposed supporting structures. Failures of wood, metal, masonry and concrete structures). Diagnostics, definition of causes of failures, and principles of their removal.
