Conversion of Industrial Buildings Released

FA-RIOAcad. year: 2009/2010

Tutorials are focused on the revaluation of the industrial heritage and on the modes of its preservation. The aim is to prepare the young generation for the work on preserving significant areas and buildings of the period of industrialisation , finding new functions for them and fitting them again into the structure of our historical settlements. The contents of a tutorial results from the architect's need not only to cope with the design of a new building "in the green field", but , using contemporary means, to enter into relation with the historical heritage, and to find new functions for derelict buildings in industrial zones which are often in close proximity of historical urban centres (brownfields).
