The subject's aim is to make the students acquainted with the basic sociological aspects of architectural and urban design, and to impart them the basic knowledge of demography and sociology, which is relevant to architecture and urban design. The subject is divided in two parts. In the first one, the students get acquainted with the fundamentals of sociology and demography in relation to architecture and urban design. In the second part, they get a deeper insight into some problematic phenomena of today's cities with view to sociology and social geography .
