Technology of construction processes and defects in constructions

To make the students acquainted with the current building processes in relation to the properties of materials, so that they are able to use the gained knowledge in architectural design. To explain the relation between the technology of buiding processes and cost effectivennes of constructions. To offer an overview of the most frequent failures of constructions.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Student wil be able to identify the internal caus of the construction problems with the aim to eliminate them already during the projecting of the construction work.

Prerequisites

Prerequisite is passing the subject Building structurs,as basis for mastering the curriculum relating to the technology of building processes.

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The student will be granted credit on submiting an essay, in which he has analysed his own studio design with view to potential occurrence of structural failures.

To make the students acquainted with the technology of current building processes, in relation to the properties of materials, and with the use of this technolgy in architectural design.
