Characteristics of modern applied analytical chemistry. Contemporaneous Trends in analysis of selected important materials. Survey of modern destructive and non-destructive analytical methods and their limits. Problematics of analytical sample of mineral and biological origin and its preparation for analysis. Actual approaches for evaluation of analytical results. Analysis of metals and alloys, rocks and ores. Analysis of non-metalic inclusions and gases in metals. Analysis of silicates, glasses, slags and cements. Analysis of ceramics. Analysis of surfaces and thin layers.Survey of modern methods. Analysis of semiconductors. Trace and ultratrace analysis of inorganic and organic materials. Analytical chemistry of Space objects. Hyphenated methods and analysis of metal speciations in various materials .

Aims

The course focuses on information about contemporary methods of sampling and bulk analysis of metals, alloys, silicates and derived materials, ceramics, semiconductors and glasses as well as sample surfaces and layers, inclusions and gases in materials.
