Laboratory Classes in Drinking Water Treatment Technology I

Selected waste water treatment technological tests (hydraulic charakteristics, coagulation, powdered and granulated activated carbon adsorption, oxygenation capacity, filtration by granulated filtration material - including required analytical methods and results evaluation), in form of six separate excercises drawn up for all-day (8 hours) work of pair of students.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Capability of autonomous labor in application of selected technological tests
from field of waste water treatment, including of necessary chemical analysis and
their evaluation; capability of autonomous work in the MS Excel environment
during processing of experimental results by utilization of tools of mathematical
analysis and mathematical statistics.

Knowledge from courses: Hydrochemistry, Analytical chemistry, Chemical engineering, Technology of drinking water treatment, Laboratory classes on water treatment technology I

1. Clarification of waste water - estimation of optimal pH value and optimal dose of coagulant

Aims

Practical teach-in with fundamental technological procedures andprocesses,
which are asserted at waste water treatment, including necessary chemical analysis,
elementary laboratory tests and metods of numerical and mathematical
and statistical processing own experimental results.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Conditions for awarding the course unit credit: participation in laboratory classes, submitting written reports and passing of credit test.
