Unseen City

Students will be acquainted with the problematic of orientation of blind and visual impaired people in public space in the form of lectures and special seminars. They will work up a semestral work - analysis and improvements of chosen public space in the city of Brno. The course will be provided in cooperation with TyfloCentrum Brno, o.p.s. (Blind League Brno).

Semestral work - analysis and improvements of chosen public space in the city of Brno with focus on movement of blind and visual impaired people.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of building design (urban, architectural and structural design).

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

Study will be evaluated on the base of the semestral work.

Course curriculum

In the first part of the semester will students be acquainted with the problematic of orientation of blind and visual impaired people in public space in the form of lectures and special seminars (experience course, personal meeting). In the second part they will work (on the base of gained experience) up an analysis and improvements of chosen public space.

Presence at lectures and seminars results from the duty to consult with the teacher about the seminar assignment.
