German for Intermediate Students 2/2

FIT-JN3Acad. year: 2009/2010

The course builds on the previous study (see course JN2). Verbal system, the passive, time clauses, comparatives and superlatives of adjectives and adverbs are practised. Vocabulary knowledge increases, and the listening skills are improved. Specialized German texts for the study programmes of FEKT and FIT VUT are used as an introduction to the study of technical language. The course is listed among the standard courses.

L1 - Life in the city and in the country Grammar: comparatives and superlatives of adjectives and adverbs, relative clauses L2 - Car; Getting around in a city Grammar: comparisons, conjunctive II L3 - Travelling; inhabitants, countries, languages Grammar: past tense, the conjunctions wenn and als, Plusquamperfektum L4 - Culture Grammar: Futur I, prepositions with the genitive L5 - Profession, work, educational system; CV Grammar: using the verb lassen L6 - Television and massmedia Grammar: infinitive with zu, forming the infinitive groups, direction adverbs hin- and her- L7 - Leisure time Grammar: the position of the negative particle nicht in a sentence, infinitive constructions haben+zu+inf. and sein+zu+inf., clauses expressing purpose L8 - Christmas; holidays L9 - The nuclear energy - specialized text Grammar: passives L10 - The place I live at Grammar: passives with modal verbs, word order L11 - Grammar: relative clauses L12 - Berlin Grammar: declining the noun after the definite and indifinite articles, forming the geographical adjectives, the conjunction "aby" (dass, damit) L13 - My ideas about my future life and career Grammar: the conjunctive II ("reálný kondicionál") L14 - Living abroad; religion and racism L15 - Grammar: conjunctive II ("ireálný kondicionál"), the conjuction als ob L16 - Illnesses; human body Grammar: direct and indirect speech, conjunctives L17 - The German language Grammar: multi-word prepositions
