A Survey of International and Czech Art History at the turn of 2oth and 21st Centuries

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will learn about the chronological developments of visual art in the second half of the 20th century, taking into account developments in other art disciplined.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of history of art, reflecting the beginning of the 20th century.

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations..

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

50% attendance at lectures. Conclusion: test above 70% without examination.
Test evaluated by the ECTS scale.

5. brutalism in architecture
6. Máj 57 and Trasa art groups - Czech neo-modernism

8. The Beatnicks and Lettrism in international art
9. Pop, New Figuration, Op part, kinetism in international art

11. Czech informel, Czech Grotesque, Czech kinetism, visual and concrete poetry and lettrism

The aim of the course is to teach students about Czech and international art of the second half of the 2oth century with regard to wider social context.
