Spanish Pre-Intermediate - Part 1

This course concentrates on the following areas:
- understand daily life phrases and gain the ability to introduce yourself and the others,
- be able to express ideas in the future and in the past tens.

The course will conclude with test, which will asses the students’ knowledge of useful vocabulary and phrases.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

The student will be able to communicate very simply in situations which need simple exchange of information in basic and familiar situations, will achieve the target level A1 higher according to the CEFR

Prerequisites

Students should have knowledge of the level that corresponds to subject BYS1 so they can take profit of this course.

Course curriculum

All units are from Nuevo Ven 1.

Week 1 - Unit 6 – Describe a person, how is he or she and what is he or she doing. Family members.

Week 2 - Unit 6 – Reflexive verbs. Adjectives to describe personality and physical appearance.

Week 3 - Unit 7 – Go shopping: know how to describe clothes materials and decoration. Ask about price.

Week 4 - Unit 7 – Colors, special verbs with pronouns: gustar, quedar, parecer.

Week 5 - Unit 8 – Months, years, horoscopes. Ask about instantaneous actions – use of the –ing form.

Week 6 - Unit 8 – Activities and places for relax. Traditional fiestas in Spain.

Week 7 - Unit 9 – Express intentions or plans for the future. Make alternative plans. Call to somebody.

Week 8 - Unit 9 – Placement of personal pronouns. Distinction between future and present tense.

Week 9 - Unit 10 – Talk about past events. Ask about the reason and explain oneself. Geography vocabulary.

Week 10 – Unit 10 – Préterito perfecto compuesto tense. Préterito Indefinido of verbs Estar and Ir.

Week 11 – Practicing of studied grammar and vocabulary.

Week 12– Conversation about the studied themes.

Week 13 – Tests.

Aims

The aim of this course is to teach the Spanish language and the basic communicative skills that are necessary to achieve the level A1 superior. The other subjects needed to pass the exam BY00 is BYS3.
