Theoretical principals and application of transformations in plane and space. Special directional measurement - gyroskopic and magnetic measurement. Centering of directions and distances. Measurement and processing of GPS/GLONASS. Survey of underground line and object, including their location.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Student gets overview of transformation, acquaintances with basic principles and methods of measurement and orientation of geodetic networks, gyroskopic and magnetic measurement and basic of space geodesy.

Prerequisites

Fundamental knowledge of mathematics, geometry and physics. Knowlendge of basic geodetic measurement and computation.

Course curriculum

1. Transformations.
2. Use of transformations in geodesy.
3. Change of map sheet size.
4. Magnetic azimuth, gyroskopic measurement.
5. Conversion of azimuth into bearing.
6. Centering of directions and distances.
7. Location of underground line and survey of underground objects.
8. Introduction to Space Geodesy.
9. Measurement of GPS/GLONASS.
10. Processing and application of GPS/GLONASS 1.
11. Processing and application of GPS/GLONASS 2.
12. Basics of combined networks (creation with use of space geodesy and terrestrial methods).
13. Future of Geodesy.

Getting an overview of problems in transformation. Acquaintance with basic principles and methods of measurement and orientation of geodetic networks. Gyroskopic and magnetic measurement. Basic methods of space geodesy.
