Course detail

Numerical modelling in hydrodynamics

FAST-DR57Acad. year: 2009/2010

The course deals with the development of mathematical model in hydrodynamics. Initially the elementary principles of modelling are introduced together with conceptual and mathematical model development. The problems solved are flow and transport of solids in streams and floodplain, groundwater flow and pollution, flow in reservoirs and hydrotechnical structures.
The part of the subject concerns the use of appropriate software for numerical solution of the problem.
Basics of finite difference and finite element methods are presented
Practical studies are focused on the problems connected with PhD. thesis.
